My new bed frame!

So, for awhile now (oh, maybe two years! nothing like getting right ON things!) I've been wanting to build a new bed frame for our queen sized bed. I had made a bunk bed (custom made) from scratch two years ago for my girls. It was a fun and empowering experience (think learning how to use a circular saw!) A few days ago, I FINALLY got around to making the bed! It's not quite done yet, but here it is!

The head and foot boards.

The assembled bed pre-stain. The side railings aren't screwed in place yet. I'll do that when I'm totally done with it and have it upstairs.

The stained bed. Obviously, I didn't need to stain the parts that won't be seen.

the head board stained.

These are my two lovely assistants. Noe helped me hold the big boards while I sawed them and again while I screwed various parts together. Sophia helped me pick up all the curly cues that were from the planer.
